I have had this link as one of my favorites for 2 years now. I had to bring it back after seeing Hangover this weekend. There is a scene in the movie where Zach G. is pulling into Las Vegas and this song is playing. I also found out last week that his cousin works at Lenovo.
A friend of mine and I went to Cat’s Cradle to see the Stereo Total a week or so ago and Leslie and the Ly’s were opening up for them. The lead singer is Leslie Hall and she is like no one I have ever seen before… think bedazzled 80’s sweaters, tight shiny stretch pants, big mom glasses and even bigger teased hair, but owwwwwning it with her awesome rap songs.
We should have known that something was up when we saw the swarms of people in tight pants, gem sweaters and teased hair but I had no idea what we were in for. From what I have read about her, she started out as a cewebrity, and then scored a gig on the kid’s show “Yo Gabba Gabba” and has been on tour ever since. I mentioned the show to my sister, Jeannie, who said that Leslie was actually at the School of Museum of Fine Arts in Boston a year or two before her, and she used to catch some of her shows. Their outfits, rap lyrics and theatrics on stage had us in hysterics for the entire show. I highly recommend going to see her and the Ly’s if they are in your area.
I am trying hard to resist figuring out how to get this Blame My Booty ring tone on my phone.
$26 for Dinosaur Jr tix @ Cats Cradle tonight, come on.
